We love that there's a game con in the DC area and that it seems to keep growing each year.
Shaun and I had a great time there last weekend. There were lots of great panels and vendors and the buzz was palpable. It's always so great to see a bunch of game people together in one big, safe space.
Our favorite panel was by Defacto Sound. They talked about sound design in game trailers and did a great job breaking down the many, many levels of effects and design that go into a finished piece. Check out their Wolfenstein announcement trailer for some truly impressive noise.
We saw one of our favorite artists, Spaghetti Kiss, as well. I discovered them last year at MAGFest 11 and they had a booth again this year. You should definitely check them out. Great stuff.
The novel is coming along quite well, and there are plans in the works for a new venture with Hilary Heskett Shapiro focusing on story consulting and providing multi-media content on writing and the creative process. I'll post more when we're ready for launch.
